How to use a Pattern Preview Tool in Procreate

Do you want to learn how to create better patterns in Procreate? In this tutorial, I’m showing you how to use a pattern preview tool in Procreate, and how to test your patterns in my free tool the Repeat Pattern Tester.

Designing seamless repeat patterns in Procreate is so much fun, and I love all the features that Procreate offers. One feature that I’ve been missing though is a pattern tool, which means a tool that would show us how our patterns repeat while we create them. Let’s hope that Procreate will add such a tool in the future, but until then I’ve come up with this hack, that isn’t perfect but it’s the best as it gets at this point using Procreate to create patterns.

In this short tutorial, I’m showing you how I use the reference window as a pattern preview tool. After I figured out this method it was so much easier to create professional patterns in Procreate!
