What is a Mini Pattern Collection?
A mini pattern collection is a small set of coordinating patterns designed around a central theme. These collections are perfect for seasonal projects, portfolio-building, or even product design! In this class, weāll focus on an Easter-inspired theme and create a set of patterns that complement each other beautifully.
How to Make an Easter-Themed Mini Pattern Collection
1. Find Inspiration for Your Easter Patterns
The first step in creating a mini collection is gathering inspiration. For this Easter-themed collection, think about elements that represent the holiday and the seasonāspring flowers, bunnies, Easter eggs, soft pastel colors, and playful motifs.
To help you get started, Iāve put together an Easter Pinterest board that you can use as a visual guide!
2. Choose a Seasonal Color Palette
A strong color palette ties your collection together and makes it feel cohesive. Easter colors are typically soft and pastel, with shades of pink, yellow, mint green, and baby blue. In the class, I provide a pre-made Easter Procreate color palette so you can easily follow along.
3. Design Your First Pattern in Procreate
Once you have your inspiration and color palette, itās time to start designing! In the class, Iāll show you how to create a seamless repeat pattern from scratch in Procreate. Youāll also learn how to use my pattern layout templates to make the design process smoother and more efficient.
4. Expand Your Collection with Coordinating Patterns
A mini pattern collection includes a main print and a few coordinating patterns. These can be simple geometric prints, textures, or smaller-scale patterns that complement the main design. Iāll guide you on how to balance variety while keeping a cohesive look.
